Join us for a great day of teaching, fellowship, and fun at First Baptist Church!

Pastor Brad Shaw of Bluepoint Baptist in Shumway IL and Pastor Albert Bennet of Bible Baptist in Rantoul IL will encourage us from God’s Word and optional breakout sessions will cover topics including homeschooling, parenting, dating, and music.

Enjoy fun activities for the whole family including bounce houses, carnival games, cornhole, potato guns, pumpkin painting, spike ball, volleyball and more!

A free lunch is provided for all who attend and additional snacks and refreshments are available for purchase throughout the day.

Speakers

Pastor Brad Shaw

Pastor Brad Shaw graduated from Maranatha Baptist University in 2013 and has pastored Bluepoint Baptist in Shumway IL since 2018. He and his wife Becky have six children. In his session he will challenge us to think biblically about education and the responsibility of training children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Pastor Albert Bennet

Pastor Albert Bennet of Bible Baptist in Rantoul IL is a graduate of Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown Wisconsin. He has served as the pastor of Bible Baptist since 2015. Albert and his wife Sarah have four children Jocelynn, Caleb, Sophia, and Gabby. In his session Pastor Bennet will explain how the Gospel transforms us and our homes and challenge us to foster a God-honoring culture of the home that can be passed down to the next generation.

  • Wisdom in Dating

    AARON RANDOLPH

    How and when should Christian young people pursue a dating relationship? In this session we will discuss biblical principles that should shape and govern our dating/courtship practices and answer your questions on this topic.
    Should teenagers pursue a romantic relationship? What role should parents play in helping their child find a spouse? What boundaries should Christians set in romantic relationships?
    This is a great session for teens, young adults, and parents.

  • Music for the Glory of God

    THOMAS SEIDEL

    Music is a beautiful gift and powerful tool for advancing God’s kingdom. Evangelist Thomas Seidel and his wife are both gifted musicians and they incorporate their children into their ministry of blessing local churches by ministering in song. This session will help us think biblically about using our musical ability for God’s glory including how and when to begin cultivating the musical gifts of our children.

  • Love through Discipline in the Home

    LOWELL MEST

    Somewhere along the way our society became convinced that love and proper discipline were mutually exclusive methods of parenting. In this session we will see that when administered correctly, discipline in the home is an act of love both for God and for our children. If you love your children you must learn to teach them well and correction is an essential part of that process.

  • Home School Help

    BECKY SHAW

    Homeschooling can be overwhelming, but a Christ-centered education is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children. Becky is a pastor’s wife and homeschool mother of six and in this session she will share some of the lessons they’ve learned over the years and practical advice for those just getting started.

    This session is specifically for women.
